Tree Stump was created as part of a project where I threw a hula hoop into the woods and explored whatever lay within its circle. Flowing grain patterns trace the years of the tree’s life, while broken shards mark where the saw once cut through - details which I felt deserved to be noticed. It’s a study of the kind of quiet beauty in nature that is often passed by.
Printed by hand on beautiful 300gsm hot-pressed watercolour paper, this piece captures fine detail and subtle texture. Each print is unique, with slight variations that are part of its handmade character.
